.58 Caliber Percussion US Military Long Arm. Very good condition overall with smooth bright barrel and lock. Barrel dated 1863. Crisply marked Mason lock dated 1864. Clear "VP" proofs on barrel. Excellent bore and mechanics. Original ram rod and sling swivels. Barrel bands have been salt and peppered but cleaned nicely to bright. Triggerguard and buttplate are fine. Fine original oil finished stock with crisp edges on flat, lock mortise and along barrel and ram rod channels. No sign of ever being cartouched. Old drying crack behind hammer. Original wood had not separated and is still in place.
