VERY INTERESTING PERCUSSION OVER-UNDER COMBINATION RIFLE/SHOTGUN

.36 Caliber Rifle Barrel mounted on a 12 gauge smoothbore tube. Both barrels are 29 3/4 Inches. Rifle Barrel (top) is octagon. Shotgun Barrel (bottom) is round! Space between the barrels are filled with three iron ram rod pipes. Champagne glass shaped iron rammer is still in the left hand pipes. It is missing from the right. Double mule eared percussion hammers fall onto drum bolsters. The shotgun barrel has an elongated cone to reach the hammer. Back action locks engraved with hunting scenes. Thick, heavy duty brass trigger guard and crescent shaped buttplate. Beautiful Walnut butt stock with huge pistol grip and full cheek rest on left flat. Adjustable, double set triggers. Very hearty, heavy sporting arm from the mid 1850's. Unmarked but I would bet New York manufacture. Interesting piece.
