RARE SHARPS MODEL 1855 CARBINE

.52 Caliber Breech loading Sharps Carbine with Maynard Priming System. SN# 1X853". VG Condition overall. Smoothbored barrel is mostly a bright smooth plum patina. Ladder style rear sight. Receiver is a mixture of plum, blue and steel patina. Clear Maynard Patent dates on the tape dore. System still works perfectly. Some slight pitting on hammer and rear of lock. Lever has tiny amount near the hinge. Perfect mechanics. Smooth bore. Handsome brass mounts and patch box. Stock and forend are well used but good and solid. Sling ring and bar on left flat. The last of the "Slant Breech" Sharps. Only 800 made.
