DWM AMERICAN EAGLE P.08 LUGER PISTOL, 7.65MM

This is an original, American Eagle P.08 Luger Pistol manufactured by Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken (DWM). I believe that this is a Model 1906 American Eagle. It is chambered for the 7.65mm Parabellum (.30 Luger) cartridge. These were made for the American market and are marked above the chamber with an American Eagle Emblem. This one is in very good condition but has been reworked at some point. The toggle has been replaced and the barrel is now 4-inches long instead of 4 3/4-inches. The barrel is unnumbered. The toggle, of course, is mismatched. The toggle also does not have a rear sight. That said, the gun has 60-70% of its blued finish remaining. There is some overall finish wear consistent with use. The grip straps and side plate are starting to develop some brown patina. Ironically, the side plate is matching. The pistol works well mechanically. The bore is in fine condition. The grips are worn with a few small dings from use. There are a couple of old worn chips on the bottom of the left grip. The magazine is mismatched and has a sprinkling of old rust specks.
