Here is an original, WWII British No.4, Mk.I* Short Magazine Lee Enfield Rifle manufactured by Savage Arms in America. Marked "U.S. Property", this is one of the rifles shipped to England under the Lend Lease Program. The No.4, Mk.I was the standard British battle rifle of the Second World War. The Mk.I* had a simplified rear sight. Included is an original grenade launcher. This rifle is in fine condition with about 80% of its factory phosphate finish. The gun has light overall finish wear. There is heavier finish wear on the edges of the magazine. The rifle has excellent mechanics with a matching bolt. The bore is good. There was some very fine pitting that has left a frosted texture behind, but the rifling remains strong along the bore's length. The stock is in fine condition with a few small dings and scratches from use. The detachable grenade launcher is in very fine condition. This is a nice example of a Savage No.4 SMLE. Stock no. 32196
