SPANISH MAB MARTIAN .25 AUTO PISTOL

This is a Spanish MAB Martian Semi-Automatic Pistol chambered for the 6.35mm (.25 ACP) cartridge. The MAB stands for Marten A. Bascaren of Eibar, Spain, who produced these from 1919 to about 1928. It is basically a copy of the Browning Vest Pocket. This one is in good condition. There is no finish remaining. The gun has been polished to an armory bright finish. There are a couple of pea-sized areas of rust on the back surfaces that have turned a textured dark brown. The mechanics appear to work well. The bore is in fine condition. It needs a cleaning, but the rifling is strong. The original grips have been replaced with a set of theatre made clear grips. This may have been a war trophy. It is an interesting little pistol.
