CHINESE TYPE 53 CARBINE, ALL MATCHING, 7.62X39MM

This is an original, Chinese Type 53 Carbine manufactured at Factory 296 in 1954. It is chambered for the 7.62x39mm Cartridge. The Type 53 was a license-built copy of the Soviet M1944 Carbine. They saw extensive service with the People's Liberation Army from 1953 until the early 1960's. They were also used in large numbers by the North Vietnamese and the Viet Cong. This carbine is in very good condition with all matching numbers. It is well-used with about 20% of its factory blued finish remaining. The majority of the gun has a speckled, steel-gray patina. The carbine has excellent mechanics and a fine bore. The grooves are a little dark, but the rifling is strong along the barrel's length. The stock is in good condition with a liberal scattering of small dings, gouges, and scratches. It looks to have been lightly sanded at one time. There are tiny importer marks on the receiver.
