Here is an original, FN Model 1900 Semi-Automatic Pistol chambered for the .32 ACP cartridge. Designed by American John Browning and produced by FN of Belgium, the Model 1900 was the first production pistol to use a slide. They were made from 1900 to 1911 and sold world-wide. This pistol was made for sale in Germany with safety markings in German. It is also marked "K.P.D. Sch. No. 58". This is for Karlsruhe Polizeidirektion (Karlsruhe Police Directorate). These markings probably date to the time of the Weimar Republic. This pistol is in fine condition with about 90% 0f its blued finish remaining. While all markings are crisp, the gun may have been reblued for its Weimar service. The mechanics work very well. The bore is good with a little wear from use. The black hard rubber grips are in good condition with no chips or cracks. There are some small holes in the checkered surface. I believe that this is insect damage. This is an interesting early pistol. Teddy Roosevelt owned one and it also seemed to be a favorite of assassins in the first half of the 20th century. Stock no. 31699
