VERY FINE COLT OFFICER'S MODEL TARGET REVOLVER, .38 SPL.

This is a Colt Officer's Model Target Revolver manufactured in 1950 and chambered for the .38 Special cartridge. This is a very late third issue revolver. Colt had actually started making the fourth issue revolvers at the time that records indicate this revolver was made. This is a double action revolver built on the medium sized "E" frame. It has a 6" barrel with adjustable front and rear sights. This revolver is in very fine condition with about 95% of its factory blued finish remaining. There is some very light holster wear on the barrel at the muzzle and on the high exposed edges of the gun. The bore, chambers, and mechanics are all excellent. The grips are in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The right grip shows moderate wear of the checkering. This is usually seen on revolvers carried by police officers and is caused by frequently resting the right hand on the butt of the gun. This is a very nice example of the Colt Officer's Model target revolver. Stock no. 31889
