This is a Swedish Model 1896 Mauser Infantry Rifle made Carl Gustafs in 1910. These served the Swiss Army until 1938 when they adopted a shorter version. This rifle is in fine condition with all matching numbers. It retains about 90% of its factory blued finish with some light finish wear on the barrel. There is heavier wear on the barrel band. The bolt remains armory bright. The butt plate, originally bright, has a speckling of brown patina. The rifle has excellent mechanics. The bore is very fine. The grooves are a little dark, but the lands are smooth, shiny, and strong. The stock is very good with a scattering of small dings and scratches from use. There are tiny importer marks on the barrel. The Model 1896 has a reputation for rugged dependability and superb accuracy. Stock no. 31819
