Here is a Czechoslovakian VZ.24 Mauser rifle manufactured at Brno. It is chambered for the 7.92x57mm (8mm Mauser) cartridge. This was the main battle rifle of the Czech Army, but it was also one of the most exported military rifles ever built. The crest on this is has been scrubbed, but the remnants may yield a clue as to where it was used. This rifle is in good condition with 60-70% of its blued finish remaining. There is overall moderate finish wear with heavier wear on the butt plate and trigger guard. the bolt is bright with a steel patina. The mechanics are excellent with a mismatched bolt. The bore is very good with strong rifling. The grooves are a little dark. The bore has been counterbored at the muzzle. The stock has seen heavy use with a heavy scattering of small dings, scratches, and gouges from use. There is an old armory repair to the butt just behind the stock disk. There are tiny importer marks on the barrel. Stock no. 31049
