Description :

|
This is an original, Finnish Model 1939 Mosin-Nagant Rifle built by Sako in 1942 and chambered for the 7.62x53mm Rimmed cartridge. The Model 1939 was the final version of the Mosin-Nagant used by Finland. Still built on a Russian receiver, it was the ultimate example of the Mosin with every improvement that Finland had made to the original rifles. They were quite rugged with a record of superb accuracy. They were made for both the Army and the Civil Guard. The Civil Guard rifles are about 6 times rarer than the Army rifles, and this is an outstanding example of one. It is in very fine to excellent condition with more than 95% of its original blue/black finish remaining. There is some finish wear on the trigger guard and magazine floorplate which were reused in the build of this rifle. There is some finish wear on the heel of the butt plate. The bolt is finished armory bright and still has a coating of old storage grease. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The bolt does not match. The stock is excellent, as well, with a crisp Sako marking and "42" date. The receiver ring has crisp markings with "SK.Y" for Civil Guard. There are tiny importer marks on the barrel. This is one of the best M1939 rifles I have ever had and Civil Guard to boot! Stock no. 31771
