Item :	REPLICA MODEL 1863 REMINGTON ZOUAVE PERCUSSION RIFLE, .58 CALIBER

This is an Italian made replica of the Model 1863 Remington Percussion Rifle made in 1987. There is no maker's name. Known as the "Zouave", the Model 1863 Remington is considered to be one of the best made and designed military arms of the Civil War. Approximately 12,501 were produced from 1862-1865, with all delivered in 1865. The Zouave was a handsome weapon, with a .58 caliber, 33" blued barrel and brass stock furniture with a patchbox. This is a decent replica in fine condition. It retains nearly all of the blued finish on the barrel with a very light dusting of tiny surface rust specks. It should clean up very well. The lock plate has all of its blued finish. the hammer has case colors. There is some rust on the hammer, especially on the top surface. The brass hardware has a dark golden brass patina. There is significant tarnish on the patchbox cover and butt plate. There is verdigris on the heel of the butt plate. The lock works well mechanically. The bore is in fine condition, mostly shiny with just a speck or two. The stock is fine with a few small dings and scuffs on the butt from use. This should suit either a shooter or reenactor well.
