Description :

|
This is an Ortgies Model 1920 Semi-Auto Pistol made by Deutsche Werke and chambered for the 7.65mm (.32 ACP) cartridge. This is a later pistol manufactured between 1921 and 1924. The word "Germany" is stamped under the serial number, indicating that the pistol was intended for export. The Ortgies is a hammerless semi-automatic with a 3 3/8" barrel. It uses a simple blowback mechanism. It was a well-made pistol with few parts and became quite popular. This one is in very good condition with about 20% of its factory blued finish remaining. Most of the remaining finish is on the frame and in protected areas. The slide has no finish remaining. It has a steel silver patina. There is some very fine pitting in a couple of places, mostly around the ejection port. The gun works well mechanically. The slide does not lock back on an empty magazine, which is correct on an Ortgies. The ore is in very fine condition with strong rifling. The grips are in fine condition with just a few tiny dings from use. The Ortgies Pistol was quite popular, and many were carried by German officers in WWII. Stock no. 31597
