WWI BRITISH WEBLEY MK.VI REVOLVER, .45 ACP, 1916 MFG.

Description :
|
This is an original, WWI British Webley Mk.VI Revolver manufactured in 1916. Originally chambered for the .455 Eley cartridge, it has been modified to use the .45 ACP cartridge with half-moon clips. This was the standard British revolver of the First World War. It is a large frame, double-action, break-top revolver with a 6-inch barrel. This one is in very good to fine condition with 40-50% of its original factory blued finish remaining. Most of the remaining finish is on the frame and cylinder with the barrel and grip straps turning a smooth light brown. The revolver has an excellent bore and chambers. The gun has excellent mechanics, but there is a screw missing on the right side of the frame where the barrel pivots. It does not seem to affect the operation of the gun, but I would definitely find a replacement. The black hard rubber grips are in fine condition with no chips or cracks. There are a few small dings freom use and a pea-sized abraded spot on the right grip at the edge of the butt. This is a decent, WWI Webley. Stock no. 31471
