VERY FINE STARR ARMS COMPANY SINGLE ACTION 1863 ARMY REVOLVER, .44 CALIBER

This is an original, Civil War, Starr Arms Co. Single Action 1863 Army Revolver. It is a 6-shot, .44 caliber, percussion revolver with an 8" barrel. Starr produced about 32,000 of these from 1863 to 1865. The US government purchased about 25,000, making the single action Starr the 3rd most issued revolver of the war. This is a military Starr revolver. It is in very fine condition with 70-80% of its factory blued finish remaining. There is some light overall finish wear including some holster wear at the muzzle and front of the cylinder. The grip strap shows heavier finish wear with the trigger guard beginning to turn brown. The bore, chambers, and mechanics are all excellent. The walnut grip is in very good to fine condition with a few small dings and some wear at the edges of the butt, Inspector's cartouches are visible on both sides of the grip. There are a number of small sub-inspector's initials on the gun. This is a great example of a Civil War Starr Single action in really nice condition. Stock no. 31509
