Item :	FINE FRENCH MAS 36 RIFLE, 7.5X54MM

Description :

Here is a French MAS 36 Rifle chambered for the 7.5x54mm cartridge. Production of the MAS 36 began in 1938 but was halted after the German occupation in 1940. Only about 250,000 rifles had been produced before France's surrender. Production resumed after France's liberation and most examples date to the post war period. The serial number's "M" prefix indicates that this rifle was made after WWII. It is in fine condition with more than 95% of its dark gray phosphate finish remaining. There is just a bit of wear on the high edges. The rifle has excellent mechanics with a matching bolt. The stock furniture and magazine floor plate do not match. The bore is excellent. The stock is in fine condition. The butt has been lightly sanded and the cartouches on the stock are too faint to read. Included is the rifle's integral bayonet and an original sling in excellent condition. This is a nice, post-WWII Mas 36. Stock no. 31303
