This is a Smith & Wesson Model 39-2 Pistol manufactured in about 1974 and chambered for the 9mm Parabellum cartridge. The Model 39 was a double-action semi-automatic with a 5 1/2" barrel and an alloy frame. It has an adjustable rear sight and feeds from a single-stack, 8-round magazine. The Model 39 was the first American-made DA 9mm Semi-auto pistol. It was produced from 1954 to 1982. The Model 39-2 was first produced in 1971. This pistol is in fine condition with about 95% of its factory blued finish remaining. There is light finish wear on the exposed edges and a small, scuffed spot on the left side of the frame and slide. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The checkered walnut grips are very fine with just a couple of tiny dings from use. The Model 39 is an American Classic! Stock no. 31247
