Here is an original, Russian SKS Rifle manufactured at Tula Arsenal in 1951. It is chambered for the 7.62x39mm cartridge. Designed by Soviet small arms designer Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov during WWII, the SKS is a gas operated, semi-automatic rifle with an integral folding blade bayonet. Russia produced the SKS from 1949 to 1958. They served with distinction all over the world in just about every conflict in the last seventy years. This rifle is in very fine condition with all matching numbers. It retains about 98% of its black finish with just a tiny ding or two and some small scratches on the butt plate. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The laminated stock is very fine to excellent with just a tiny ding or two from use or storage. It is numbered to the gun. Included is an original Russian web sling in excellent condition. The Russian SKS is widely considered to be of higher quality than the Chinese Type 56 SKS. They are increasingly hard to find.
