FINE, SWEDISH MODEL 1896 RIFLE, 6.5X55MM

This is a Swedish Model 1896 Mauser Infantry Rifle manufactured by Carl Gustafs in 1906 and chambered for the 6.5x55mm cartridge. Carl Gustafs produced these until 1925. This rifle is in fine condition. It has all matching numbers. It retains more than 95% of its blued finish with light overall wear on the edges and a speck or two of rust on the barrel. The matching bolt is armory bright with some brown speckling. The rifle has an excellent bore and mechanics. The stock is in fine condition with a scattering of small dings and scratches from use. There is some tape residue on the comb of the stock just ahead of the butt plate. There are small importer marks on the barrel. The barrel has been fitted with the screw on muzzle brake and also has a front sight cover. This is a nice example of the '96 Swedish Mauser. Stock no. 31112
