Description :
|
This is an original, WWII, No.I, Mk.III Short Magazine Lee Enfield Rifle manufactured at Lithgow Arsenal in 1941. It is chambered for the .303 British cartridge. The No.I, Mk.III was the standard Australian battle Rifle of both World Wars. This early WWII production rifle retains the magazine cut-off. It is in very fine condition with all-matching numbers. The rifle retains about 90% of its factory blued finish with light overall wear. The receiver and magazine are turning a smooth light brown. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is excellent as well with just a very tiny ding or two from use. It may be a wartime replacement as it is dated 1943 and is in fantastic condition. Included is a WWII web sling in fine condition with clear "1942" markings. There are a few small rust stains on the webbing. This is a beautiful Australian Mk.III. Stock no. 31121
