Here is an original, WWII, British, No.5, Mk.I Jungle Carbine manufactured in 1945 and chambered for the .303 British cartridge. I don't see a maker's name, but all were made by B.S.A. or at Fazakerley. This is a genuine Jungle Carbine with the milled flutes on the barrel shank. It is in very good condition. Most of the black paint-like finish has worn away leaving a phosphate finish behind. There is some light wear of the phosphate finish on the barrel. The magazine has turned brown. The carbine has excellent mechanics. The serial number has been double stamped on the receiver and is either BD 7612 or BD 2612. The number on the bolt is BD 7612, so I believe that it is the original bolt. The bore is very good with strong rifling. The lands are a little dark and there is some texture up near the muzzle. The stock is very good with a few small dings and scratches from use. There are tiny importer marks on the barrel. Included is an original, WWII web sling dated 1944. It is in very fine condition and nicely marked. Everyone needs to shoot a jungle carbine so they will better appreciate the recoil of their other rifles! Stock no. 31212
