Description :
|
This is an original, WWII, Russian Model 1895 Nagant Revolver manufactured at Tula Arsenal in 1943. It is chambered for the 7.62mm Nagant pistol cartridge. The M1895 was the standard Russian service revolver of the First World War. After the Russian revolution it continued in service with Soviet troops. Although the revolver began to be replaced as early as 1933 by the new Tokarev, the M1895 was used in large numbers throughout the Second World War. It remained in Soviet service in a limited capacity until 2009 when the Russian bailiff security service retired their revolvers. The Nagant is a gas seal revolver. The cylinder moves forward on cocking, sealing the gap between the cylinder and barrel. This makes it one of the very few revolvers that can be successfully used with a suppressor. This revolver is in very fine condition with about 98% of its blued finish remaining. There is a hint of holster wear at the muzzle. This is almost certainly an arsenal reblue. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The checkered wood grips are excellent as well. Included is an original holster with a cleaning rod and a leather lanyard. There are all in excellent condition. This is a very nice, WWII Nagant. Stock no. 31132
