This is a Hungarian built Steyr Model 1895 Carbine chambered for the 8x56mm Rimmed cartridge. The Model 1895 is a straight pull design. I believe that this is a Cavalry Carbine as it only has side mounted sling swivels. It is in fine condition with matching numbers. It retains about 98% of its blued finish with just a hint of wear on the high points. The matching bolt remains armory bright. The rifle has excellent mechanics. The bore is in fine condition, a little frosty in the grooves, but the lands are bright and strong. The stock is in fine condition with a few small dings and scratches from use. It is numbered to the rifle, but several older numbers have been scored out. This is a nice example of the M95 Steyr cavalry carbine. Stock no. 31052
