This is an original Czechoslovakian Model 1898/22 (VZ.22) Rifle made at the Czechoslovakian Arms Factory in Brno. It is chambered for the 7.92x57mm (8mm Mauser) cartridge. The VZ.22 was an updated version of the Mexican Model 1912 Mauser. Between the World Wars, Brno made and exported military rifles all over the world. Almost all of the VZ.22 rifles were eventually sold to Turkey and have Turkish sights. This rifle is in very good to fine condition with more than 95% of its blued finish remaining. There are just a few tiny nicks in the finish. The bolt is finished bright. The magazine release has a plum color. The rifle has excellent mechanics and a fine bore. All the parts, including the bolt, are mismatched. The stock is very good with a scattering of small dings and scratches from use. There are tiny importer marks on the barrel. This is a good example of the VZ.22 Rifle. Stock no. 31043
