Description :

This is a Yugoslavian Model 1924 Rifle. The Model 24 was the first Yugoslavian rifle purpose built to fire the 7.92x57mm (8mm Mauser) cartridge. The first batch of these rifles was built at FN in Belgium. FN supplied Yugoslavia with the machinery to build the rifles in country and production began in 1928. This was the standard Yugoslavian battle rifle during WWII. Germany used a large number of these rifles after capturing them in 1941 after the invasion of Yugoslavia. This rifle is in very good condition with completely mis-matched parts. It retains the Yugoslavian Crest and the original factory markings on the side of the receiver. About 60% of the blued finish remains with some overall wear and the remainder of the gun having a smooth brown patina. The mechanics are excellent with a mis-matched bolt. The bore is very good with a little frostiness in the grooves but strong rifling along its length. the stock is in very good to fine condition with a scattering of small dings and scratches from use. There are tiny importer marks on the receiver. Not a lot of these have survived in their original, as-built condition. Stock no. 31046
