This is a Swedish Model 1896 Mauser Infantry Rifle manufactured by Carl Gustafs in 1909 and chambered for the 6.5x55mm cartridge. Carl Gustafs produced these until 1925.
This rifle has been fitted with the SM Sikte F-Ram micrometer rear sight and hooded front sight for target use. This rifle is in fine condition. It has all matching numbers, except for the nose cap. It retains more than 95% of its blued finish. The date on the receiver ring is very faint, leading me to believe that the gun is arsenal refurbished. The matching bolt is armory bright. The rifle has excellent mechanics and a very fine bore. The stock is in fine condition with a scattering of small dings and scratches from use. There are two larger scratches on the right side of the butt. There are small importer marks on the barrel. This is a nice example of the '96 Swedish Mauser. Stock no. 30949
