FINE BRAZILIAN MODEL 1908 INFANTRY RIFLE, 7X57MM

This is a Brazilian Model 1908 Infantry Rifle manufactured by Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken in Oberndorf and chambered for the 7x57mm (7mm Mauser) cartridge. DWM produced 77,000 of these for Brazil under contract in 1913. This rifle is in fine condition with matching numbers. I am sure that this rifle has been arsenal refurbished/refinished at some time. There are some old pits along the barrel channel that have been blued over. The gun retains nearly all of its current blue/black finish. The receiver, bolt, and butt plate are armory bright. The rifle has excellent mechanics and a fine bore. There is a little texture in the grooves, but the rifling is strong along the barrel's length. The stock is very good to fine with a scattering of small dings and scratches from use. There is a 1/2" square dent on the right side of the pistol grip that has been worn smooth over the years. There are importer marks on the barrel. This is a nice example of the M1908 Brazilian Mauser. Stock no. 30950
