This is a Winchester Model 1894 Deluxe Rifle manufactured in 1908 and chambered for the .30-30 Winchester (.30 WCF) cartridge. Manufactured from 1894 to 1929, the Deluxe rifle featured a pistol grip and checkered wood. This rifle has a stainless steel 26" tapered octagon barrel. This is a later replacement. It is a Winchester factory barrel, but I don't know if the gun was rebarreled at the factory. This rifle is in very good condition with about 40% of its blued finish remaining. Nearly all of the remaining finish is on the barrel and magazine tube. There is no finish remaining on the receiver, lever, or butt plate. They have a steel gray patina with a liberal speckling of brown. The barrel has about 70% of its finish remaining. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is very good with some wear of the varnished finish. There is a scattering of small dings and scratches from use. The rifle is fitted with a Lyman side mounted rear peep sight in good condition. It has little finish left. A Model 1894 Deluxe is a scarce rifle and a good-looking Winchester. Stock no. 30944
