This is an original P.08 Luger Pistol made by Deutsche Waffen und MunitionsFabriken (DWM) in 1920. This is a scarce, post-WWI production gun made for the German military. Military weapon production in Germany was sharply curtailed by the Treaty of Versailles. Only a few thousand of these were produced by DWM and Erfurt in 1920 and 1921. These were specifically for the post-war German army and police forces. This is an army pistol with no police proofs. The gun is in fine condition with all matching numbers except for the magazines. It retains about 75% of its factory blued finish. The grips straps show significant finish wear and have a steel gray patina. There is some holster wear on the barrel sides and the high points of the frame and side plate. There are some tiny rust specks on the left side of the barrel where it contacted the leather of the holster. The straw-colored parts remain a very light straw color, leaning towards polished steel. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The grips are in fine condition with light wear of the checkering. They are not numbered or marked in any way. Included are two tinned magazines with wooden base plugs. Neither matches the gun. One is fine and the other very good with some old surface rusting. Also included is a WWI holster dated "1918". It is in very good condition, but the flap for the tool is missing. The tool is gone as well. This is a scarce variant of the P.08 Luger. Stock no. 30990
