Description :

Here is an original, WWI, Imperial Russian, Model 1891 Mosin-Nagant Rifle manufactured at the Imperial Tula Arsenal of Peter the Great in 1916. Actually, the date is 1914, but the "4" has been struck out and restamped with a "6". The rifle remains in its original configuration and length without the modifications of 1930. It is chambered for the 7.62x54mm rimmed cartridge. This was the standard Russian Battle Rifle of the First World War. This one is in fine condition with about 90% of its blued finish remaining. The finish has been polished off of the magazine floor plate and that part has been renumbered twice. There is some finish wear on the heel of the butt plate. The bolt is mismatched but remains armory bright. The small Russian Imperial Eagle has been ground off of the barrel, so I suspect it has been refurbished by the Bolsheviks. The rifle has excellent mechanics. The bore is dark and frosty, but the rifling is strongly visible along the barrel's length. The stock is very good with a scattering of small dings and scratches from use. There is a little tape residue on the butt plate. This is a good First World War Mosin. Stock no. 30927
