Here is an original, WWII, U.S. Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol manufactured by Colt in 1942. This was the standard American sidearm in WWII and Korea. This gun has been refinished with a dark gray phosphate finish. The sides of the slide have been polished and given a blued finish. It is very well done and gives the gun a striking two-tone finish. All the lettering remains clear. The gun retains more than 98% of its present finish. There are a couple of tiny spots of corrosion, one on the right front of the slide and the other on the left rear of the slide. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The barrel is a replacement. The grips are correct, 1942 vintage Coltwood plastic with mold numbers and no strengthening ribs. They are in excellent condition. Included is one WWII magazine in fine condition with some friction wear of the blued finish. This is a good-looking pistol, but what can you say? Refinishers got to refinish... Stock no. 30699
