Item No.: 10455 Price : $1,195.00
Item : CANADIAN SMITH & WESSON .455 MK.II HAND EJECTOR, 2ND MODEL W/ HOLSTER & LANYARD
Description :
Here is a Smith & Wesson .455 Mk.II Hand Ejector, 2nd Model Revolver made for Canada under contract. It is chambered for the .455 Mk.II cartridge (.455 Eley). Smith & Wesson manufactured 69,754 of these between 1915 and 1917. 14,500 went to the Canadian service. This is Smith & Wesson's .45 Hand Ejector, a large, 6-shot, double-action service revolver built on their "N" frame. It has a 6 1/2"-barrel. This revolver is in fine condition with about 80-85% of its factory blued finish remaining. There is some light overall speckling and spotting of the finish which is heaviest on the top strap and a small area on the barrel near the caliber markings. There is some light holster wear on the high edges of the frame, barrel, and cylinder. There is a very faint name scratched on the left side of the frame. The bore, chambers, and mechanics are excellent. The checkered wood grips have the S&W medallion and the diamond screw escutcheons. They are very fine with just a few tiny dings from use. The included original braided lanyard is in very fine condition. Also included is the original holster dated 1916. It was originally made by J.W. & S., Ltd. for a Webley revolver. I believe the holster may have been modified by the soldier who carried it. There was a brass buckle on a leather strap above the closure strap that has been cut off. If worn on the belt, this was just in the way. Although the holster was originally intended for a Webley, it is obvious that the S&W has been in it for many years. The gun's barrel extends below the bottom of the holster for about an inch. This is a great WWI Canadian group. Stock no. 30607
