WWI, ITALIAN MODEL 1916 BREAK-TOP REVOLVER, 10.35MM

Description :
|
This is a WWI, Italian Model 1916 Break-Top Revolver chambered for the 10.35mm Glisenti revolver cartridge. These revolvers were a stop-gap acquisition to fill Italy's need for sidearms in WWI. They were produced in both Italy and Spain. This revolver is marked "F.Tettoni-Brescia". While Tettoni did produce some revolvers they also ordered a large number, and this gun was made by Orbea Hermanos of Spain. It has a clear circular "OH" trademark on the right side of the frame. This is a double-action revolver with a 5" barrel. It is copied from the earlier, large Smith & Wesson break-top revolvers like the Schofield and the Russian. This gun is in very good to fine condition with 40-50% of its factory blued finish remaining with light freckling. The remainder of the gun has a smooth, light brown patina. The gun's mechanics work correctly in both double and single action. The bore is very good with some light pitting in areas that has been cleaned. The rifling is strong along the bore's length. The grips are in good condition with some small dings and gouges from use. I believe they are hard rubber. They have the Orbea Hermanos logo embossed at the top of each grip. This is an unusual WWI arm that is not often seen. Stock no. 30614
