Item :	SPANISH MODEL 1893 MAUSER INFANTRY RIFLE, 7X57MM

Description :

This is an original, Spanish Model 1893 Mauser Infantry Rifle manufactured at Oviedo Armory in 1923. It is chambered for the 7x57mm cartridge. The initial Spanish order for these rifles was built by Loewe in Berlin. Subsequently, rifles were produced in Spain by Oviedo Armory. Oviedo produced the M1893 from 1896 to 1928. This rifle is in very good condition but has mismatched numbers. The bolt has a down-turned handle. The rifle retains about 60% of its finish, most of which has turned brown. There is some rust speckling on the barrel near the muzzle. The trigger guard and magazine floor plate have a smooth brown patina. The bolt is armory bright with some speckling. The gun works well mechanically, but the bolt release lever sticks out slightly with the bolt closed. The bore is in poor condition. It is very dark with some pitting. The rifling is visible along the bore's length. The stock is in fine condition with just a few small dings from use. Included is an original leather sling in good condition. I don't know if it is correct for this rifle, or not. Stock no. 30579
