SPRINGFIELD U.S. M1 GARAND RIFLE, .30-06

This is an original, U.S. M1 Garand Rifle made by Springfield Armory in 1953. It may have been armory refurbished but has no markings to indicate that that is the case. It has a mixture of parts, mostly Springfield, but there are some Winchester parts in the trigger group. The rear sights are the WWII Battle Bar type. The stock and handguard are birch with the stock stained a dark brown. The Springfield barrel is dated "4-53". It gauges "1" at the muzzle and throat. The rifle is in fine condition with 90-95% of its Parkerized finish remaining. There was some rusting on the right side of the barrel and gas cylinder that has been cleaned. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is very fine with just a tiny ding or two from use. Included is an M1 web sling in excellent condition. This should be a good shooting rifle.
