This is an original, WWII, Italian Model 1891/38 Carcano Cavalry Carbine manufactured at Gardone and chambered for the 6.5mm Carcano cartridge. The Cavalry carbines can be identified by their folding bayonets that other variants do not have. This carbine is in fine condition with 80-90% of its blued finish remaining. There is some light overall finish wear. It is a bit heavier on the bottom of the trigger guard and on the butt plate. The gun has a very fine bore, and the mechanics work well. The stock is in fine condition with very few dings, but I believe it has been redone at some time. It does have a coat of varnish or oil. This is a good-looking example of a Carcano Cavalry Carbine.
