Item :	EXCELLENT SMITH-CORONA U.S. MODEL 1903A3 RIFLE, .30-06 CALIBER

Description :

This is an original, WWII, U.S. Model 1903-A3 Rifle manufactured by Smith-Corona in 1943. The Model '03-A3 was a simplified version of the Model 1903 Rifle that incorporated a number of stamped parts to speed production and decrease manufacturing cost. It also featured an updated aperture sight mounted on the rear of the receiver. This rifle is in excellent condition with more than 95% of its original factory blued and parkerized finishes remaining. There is some light finish wear on the high points of the magazine floor plate and trigger guard. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is in very fine to excellent condition with crisp markings and just a few small dings from use. It has the inspector's cartouche of Frank J. Atwood (FJA) with the ordnance wheel on the left side of thw wrist. The "F" is a light strike. Sub-inspector marks are strong in front of the trigger guard and there is a clear "P" firing proof behind the guard. There are no marks to indicate a re-build or re-inspection. The rifle appears to be in its original, as built condition. This is a very nice '03A3, one of the best I've had in a long time. Stock no. 30345
