VERY FINE NORWEGIAN MODEL 1887-93 NAGANT REVOLVER, 1899 MFG., 7.5MM

This is an original Norwegian Model 1887-93 Nagant Revolver chambered for the 7.5mm Swedish revolver cartridge. This revolver is one of those manufactured in Belgium by Nagant. It was part of a shipment of 5,600 revolvers sent to Norway on June 22, 1899. The revolver is in very fine condition with 85-90% of its factory blued finish remaining. There is light overall wear on the exposed edges of the gun with heavier finish wear on the grip straps. The grip straps have a smooth gray patina. About 30-40% of the fire blued finish remains on the trigger, hammer, and loading gate spring. The revolver has excellent mechanics with all matching numbers. The cylinder will turn with the hammer down, but this is correct for this revolver. The bore and chambers are excellent. The checkered wooden grips are complete with no chips or cracks. They have a few small dings and some smooth wear on the diamonds from handling. These early Belgium made Nagant revolvers are very high quality. They are far superior to the later Russian revolvers.
