FINE, AS-BUILT, WWII SPRINGFIELD U.S. M-1 GARAND, .30-06, 1944 MFG.

This is an original, WWII, U.S. M-1 Rifle manufactured by Springfield Armory in January of 1944. The M-1 was the standard battle rifle of American forces in WWII. This rifle is in fine condition with about 90% of its parkerized finish remaining. There is some finish wear on the high points of the gun. There is a bit more wear on the gas cylinder which is normal. The butt plate has heavier finish wear and there is some wear on the bottom of the trigger guard. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is fine with a few small dings from use. There is a crisp inspector's cartouche ("S.A." over "G.A.W.") with the ordnance wheel on the left side of the wrist. There is a "P" firing proof on the grip and a tiny Ordnance Wheel on the grip cap. The gun appears to have its correct, as-built parts with an uncut operating rod. This is a nice correct M-1 Garand.
