VERY FINE FRENCH M-1892 LEBEL REVOLVER W/ HOLSTER, 8MM
Description :
This is an original, French Model 1892 Lebel Service Revolver manufactured at St. Etienne in 1924. Chambered for the 8mm Lebel cartridge, the M-1892 was the standard French sidearm of the First World War. Even though replaced in 1935 by a semi-automatic design, many were carried during the Second World War as well. This revolver is in very fine condition with more than 90% of its blued finish remaining. There is some light holster wear at the muzzle and on the high edges of the frame. There is a small gash on the right side of the frame ahead of the serial number. The revolver has excellent mechanics. The bore and chambers are excellent, as well, but there is a small dent at the muzzle. The grips are made of pressed leather and are in fine condition with a little scuffing at the edges. The original brown leather "Clamshell" holster is in very fine condition with a flexible leather hinge and tight stitching. This is a very nice example of a pre-WWII Model 1892 revolver.
