VERY FINE PERUVIAN MODEL 1909 INFANTRY RIFLE, 7.65X53
Description :
This is an original, Peruvian Model 1909 Infantry Rifle manufactured by Waffenfabrik Mauser in Oberndorf, Germany. The Model 1909 closely resembles the German Gewehr 98. They are extremely well-made. This rifle is in very fine condition. It retains the Peruvian Crest on the receiver ring. It is all matching except for the safety and striker assembly which is only off by 1 digit. The two-digit number should be "64" but is "63". You have to wonder if this happened at the factory or when two soldiers were cleaning their rifles. The rifle retains about 95% of its factory blued finish with some light scratches and scuffs on the nose cap. There was a small spot of corrosion on the magazine floor plate. The bolt and receiver remain armory bright. The butt plate is armory bright with a few freckles of brown. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is in fine condition with a scattering of small dings and dents from use. There is a crisp Mauser Banner stamped on the right side of the butt. Included is an original front sight protector in very fine condition. This is an outstanding example of the Peruvian Model 1909. Stock no. 30054
