Description :

This is a Smith & Wesson Model 28 (No Dash) Revolver made about 1959 and chambered for the .357 Magnum cartridge. Known as the "Highway Patrolman", it is a double action, 6-shot revolver with a 4-inch barrel and adjustable sights. It is fitted with factory target grips. The Model 28 was a more utilitarian version of Smith & Wesson's Model 27, their flagship revolver at the time. The Model 28 has a satin blued finish and was intended as a service arm. This early revolver has a 4-screw frame and is pinned and recessed. It is in very fine to excellent condition with about 98% of its factory blued finish remaining. There is a drag line on the cylinder and a hint of holster wear at the muzzle. The hammer and trigger retain nearly all of their cased color. The bore and chambers are excellent. The gun has excellent mechanics with an action as smooth as glass. The walnut factory target grips have the S&W medallions and diamond escutcheons for the grip screw. They are in very fine condition with just a tiny ding or two from use. This is a great early Model 28 in outstanding condition. Stock no. 30011
