This is a British No.4, Mk.2 Short Magazine Lee Enfield Rifle manufactured at ROF-Fazakerley in 1949. This was the final British-made variant of the SMLE. It is chambered for the .303 British cartridge. This rifle is in very good condition with about 70% of its blued finish remaining. There is light overall wear consistent with use. It is a little heavier on the receiver. The rifle has excellent mechanics with a matching bolt. It has a very fine bore. The stock is in very fine condition with the usual small dings and scratches of use. It is numbered to the gun. Included is a web sling. It is a light tan color. These are rugged, reliable, good shooting rifles. Stock no. 29865
