WWII WALTHER P.38 PISTOL W/ HOLSTER, "AC42", 9MM

Description :
|
Here is an original, WWII P.38 Pistol made by Walther ("ac42" code) and chambered for the 9mm Parabellum cartridge. The P.38 was the standard sidearm of the Wehrmacht in WWII, replacing the P.08 Luger in 1938. This pistol is in very good condition with matching numbers. The pistol had some light overall surface rusting, probably from being left in the holster. This has left an overall scattering of small etched spots on the gun. Hard to judge how much finish is left. Maybe 80-90%. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The brown/black Bakelite grips are in very fine condition with just a tiny ding or two from use. Included is an original holster and two magazines. Both mags are marked P.38. The holster is nicely marked and dated 1943. It was made by Otto Reichel, Inh. Rudolf Fischer, Lederwarenfabrik, Lengfeld, Erzgebirge ("eue" code). It is in very fine condition, except that the GI put his name on the back. There are actually two names. One of the owners cut the leather away from the butt of the pistol under the flap. I reckon this gave him a faster draw. He did a good job, but it does kind of spoil a great holster. All the stitching is tight. This is a nice GI bring back with a personal touch. Stock no. 29898
