EARLY WWII INLAND DIVISION U.S. M1 CARBINE, 1942 MFG., .30 CAL.

Description :
|
This is an original, WWII U.S. M1 Carbine manufactured by the Inland Division of General Motors in December of 1942. This places it squarely in the first block of production. The carbine was intended to replace the .45 pistol for support troops and those serving crew served weapons. It was universally popular and ended up serving in front line combat throughout the war. This carbine is in fine condition. It remains in its original, WWII configuration with no bayonet mount, early flip sight, and an "I" cut high wood stock. It has about 80% of its parkerized finish remaining. There is some light overall finish wear consistent with use. The gun has excellent mechanics and an excellent bore. The "I" cut stock is very good but has been lightly sanded. The "P" firing proof is faint on the grip. If you want a good, as-issued, M1 carbine, this is what they looked like in WWII.
