This is an original, WWI, Enfield No.I, Mk.III* Short Magazine Lee Enfield Rifle chambered for the .303 British cartridge. This was the standard British battle rifle of the First World War. It continued in Bristish service through the end of World War II. Commonwealth countries used it into the 1960's. This rifle has been refurbished and is in very fine refurbished condition with matching numbers. About 90% of the old re-blued finish remains with light wear on the high points. The magazine exhibits a little heavier finish wear. Unfortunately, no markings remain on the socket ring of the receiver. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is excellent, having been refinished at some time and given a clear coat. The rifle displays beautifully, looking almost new.
