This is a Hungarian built Steyr Model 1895 Short Rifle chambered for the 8x56mm Rimmed cartridge. The Model 1895 is a straight pull design. This rifle started out as a Repetier-Karabinerstutzen but at some point, the bottom swivels were removed. This rifle is in fine condition with matching numbers. It retains about 90% of its factory blued finish with some wear on the high points and sling swivels. The bolt remains armory bright. The rifle has excellent mechanics. The bore is a little dark in the grooves, but the lands are bright and strong. The stock is in fine condition with a few small dings from use. It is numbered to the rifle but an older number has been scored out. This is a nice example of the M95 Steyr. Stock no. 29688
