DCM SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1903 RIFLE, .30-06

This is a US Model 1903 Rifle manufactured at Springfield Armory in 1934 and chambered for the .30-06 Government cartridge. The rifle is a typical WWII rebuild with a Springfield barrel dated "9-44". This gun was sold through the Director of Civilian Marksmanship (DCM) on June 28, 2002. The certificate of authenticity is included with the gun. The rifle is in fine condition with more than 95% of its current black phosphate finish remaining. There are just a few tiny dings in the finish. The rifle has excellent mechanics with the bolt electro-pencil numbered to the gun, probably by the DCM. The gun has a very fine bore. The stock has been sanded and oiled and numbered to the gun. It has a few dings and scratches from use. This is a typical example of a DCM sold '03 Springfield. Stock no. 28255
