Item :	EXCELLENT FRENCH MAS 49/56 RIFLE W/ CORRECT SCOPE, SLING, ACCESSORIES, 4 EXTRA MAGS

Description :

This is an original French MAS 49/56 Rifle manufactured by Manufacture d'armes de Saint-Étienne and chambered for the 7.5 54mm French cartridge. The MAS 49 is a semi-automatic Rifle that uses a direct impingement gas system. In 1957 an updated version was introduced and designated the MAS 49/56. It was shorter and lighter than its predecessor and used a knife bayonet. It was produced from 1957 until 1978, with 275,240 issued. ?It was replaced by the FAMAS bullpup assault rifle in 1978, but was not withdrawn from service until 1990. The MAS 49 and 49/56 rifles had a side rail which would accept a telescopic sight. This rifle is in excellent condition. It is fitted with the correct, original, French "Modele 1953" APX L 806 (SOM) 3.85 power telescopic sight. The rifle retains nearly all of its factory phosphate parkerized finish. There are just a couple of very tiny scratches in the finish. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is also in excellent condition. The rifle is essentially like new. The original scope is in very fine condition with good clear optics. There are a few small scuffs and scratches in the black finish. The rubber eye cup is soft and flexible. The rifle comes with a big bag of accessories. There are two oil bottles, a grenade sight, cleaning kit, 2 rubber butt pads, a carrying case for the scope, and 4 additional magazines, all in very fine to excellent condition. The rifle is also fitted with an original sling. This is a superb example of the MAS 49/56 Rifle with the scarce original scope. Stock no. 27506
